Ann and Nancy Wilson, 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Honorees
2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductions: Backstage with Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, and Chris Cornell

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s newest inductees! I hope this night was every bit as beautiful & perfect for them as they looked and are. Its been a long journey leading up to this day, and no two souls truly deserved this honor more than Ann and Nancy did tonight.
I didn’t fully know when I was around 8 or so and heard for the first time and instantly loved the angel that is Nancy singing These Dreams *the earliest Heart memory I have*, that from there such a special love would grow so deep and deeper by the year for her and Ann in all forms, and that one day, today, I’d be able to see them from afar becoming Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, even if it was only through a screen. The bitterness of Heart being overlooked for so long has faded away, replaced with nothing but happiness because they’ve finally gotten their most deserved recognition with this honor. That’s the only thing that matters now.
I adore these two so far past what words can convey, especially when my heart is the one doing the talking. I couldn’t be happier for them. ♥
Today is the day girls. Your day. I am so immensely proud of and for you. For this incredible honor, and this beautiful career and never ending fountain of talent you share with us every day. It’s cliche at this point to say how long overdue it is. Everyone already knows that. But things happen when they are meant to happen, and 2013 was meant to be your year. I hope today is so special for you. I hope it is everything you and we have hoped it would be. I hope it is something you will look back on tomorrow, and the next day, and the next, and have nothing but joy and pride filling your hearts. This is your day. You did the impossible, in a lot of ways. You entered the veritable ‘boys club’, a male dominated industry, and are now being brought into an even more elite (some would say), boys club. What is so special about you, is that you enter these heavy testosterone-laden factions, so prejudiced sometimes to not even consider a woman could do it too, could do it better, and you enter them while remaining so beautifully female, so feminine, and take every prejudice straight the fuck out while doing so. You prove that women are here, were put here to rock like anyone else. It has nothing to do with gender. It has everything to do with love. Love of what you do, and love of who you do it for. I hope today you realize a small fraction of what you are truly worth, not just in terms of music, of writing, playing, stringing together the perfect balance to put out some of the most memorable and yes I’m saying it, Heart-felt music ever to come to be, but your worth as human beings. As women. So beautiful, so talented, so everything any girl could want to be. I am so proud today. Not only of you, but of the final reality and realization by others of how truly incredible you two are and always have been and always will be. They did it girls. They finally saw it. I am so happy for you. I love you <3
